Great portions at a very reasonable price. The chef himself even came out and introduced himself and asked if I needed anything. Awesome food and atmosphere. Great place to take a date.

Great food. Very good staff. Ordered the mixed grill platter & a few other things. If you are a meat eater, it's a very good choice. Reasonable prices. BYOB as well. Make a reservation.

Everything was amazing. The hummus, grape leaves, foul and lamb were all delicious. The hot bread was so incredibly good. Really nice family style restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table. A lot of tables were reserved and it’s a cozy restaurant - so make a reservation if you can.

Such delicious food I was blown away! I was craving some brown food in Philly and the aromatic rice in the chicken mandi was stellar! Kama, our server, was also an absolute goat, was super helpful and makes great conversation. I will becoming back!

If you are looking for a Middle Eastern restaurant in the city, you have to go to Malooga - Old City (Philadelphia) on Chestnut St. Perfect cozy atmosphere to relax and enjoy a meal in Old City. The food of course, is the star of the show, which is why Malooga is a go to. We ordered the Lamb Haneeth which is a super, ultra-tender, and I mean ultra-tender roasted lamb. So tender, melt off the bone tender, that I had to ask Chef Mohammed what the secret was. He did tell us, but I figured we should let him share it if he wants once you try it. He said it came from Grandmother. The dish comes on a bed of aromatic rice and can be shared by at least 2 persons, in this case my wife and myself. In fact, many of the dishes are shareable, which is one of the reasons I love Middle Eastern food. It’s the experience of sharing a meal that draws you together. I digress. Our server, McKenzie, was very helpful with his recommendations, which is why we chose the Lamb Haneeth. Definitely going back again when we’re near Old City. We saw 1 dish that is on our radar for the next time - the Adventure Platter. You will also want to go back for more after your first time at Malooga - Old City.

The lamb melts in your mouth! The rice was spectacular. Fahsa was delicious, especially with the baby okra and tender meat. Highly recommend the mint lemonade as well. Will definitely be coming back!!

First food experience in Philadelphia for my vacay. This place was in walking distance from the hotel and we were seated quickly. The seating is limited but the place takes reservations. There is a cozy spot for traditional seating with cushion pillows, a nice setup. Our server was great, she provided some good insight for menu selections. Unfortunately, the restaurant was near closing so most of favorite dishes were sold out. We inquired on the bowl options and the description of chicken with yogurt and then grilled had us sold. The Protein bowl Shish Taouk was excellent! The meal was flavorful, and the portions just right...mmm mmm good. And the pairing with cucumber, lettuce, onion and the hummus base with long rice, everything was delicious. Also got the Tandoor bread. The bread with some hummus, chicken, hot sauce (basically chopped jalapeño peppers and herbs) ...chef's kiss. And then got a Adani Chai tea, a wonderful blend of cinnamon, milk and cloves. It was not too sweet, a great first dining experience for the trip and after a long travel day.

One of the best mandi in Philly! You can really taste how fresh the food is—flavorful, delicious, and cooked just right. Honest prices for such a good commercial location, which is a huge plus. It’s a cozy, smaller space, but the staff’s top-notch hospitality and friendly service more than make up for it.
